LESSONS
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s individual goals, whether it’s preparing for piano or music theory exams, improving technique, learning a favorite piece, or simply exploring the joy of music. I aim to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students can grow their skills and confidence.

Ability
Lessons are designed for students of all levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced—across all age groups. I adapt my teaching to suit each student's unique abilities, including those with learning differences such as autism or ADHD. By identifying individual strengths and goals, I create a personalised learning experience that fosters growth and confidence.

Style
Lessons cater to a variety of styles, including classical, contemporary, and popular music. Whether you're drawn to the timeless beauty of classical repertoire, the creativity of modern compositions, or the energy of popular music, your lessons are tailored to suit your interests and goals while building a solid musical foundation.

Focus
The lessons focus on developing and maintaining essential skills such as technique and finger strength, sight-reading, aural training, performance preparation, and musical interpretation. These core elements are fundamental to every pianist, regardless of level or style, and provide the foundation needed to
grow into a confident and
well-rounded musician.
PIANO vs MUSIC THEORY LESSONS
Piano lessons are tailored to all levels and learning capabilities, structured around your interests and goals. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player, lessons in classical, contemporary, or popular styles will focus on building a strong foundation in technique, finger strength, aural training, and musical interpretation, with music theory seamlessly integrated to support piano learning.
Music theory lessons are ideal for those pursuing a deeper understanding of music and are best studied as part of an examination program like AMEB, which provides official grades and qualifications to track progress. I teach music theory from basic levels up to AMEB Grade 4, covering topics such as notation, harmony, scales, chords, rhythm, and composition. Please note that music theory lessons do not include piano instruction.
LESSON FORMAT
Online lessons are conducted via Zoom or another video conferencing platform, offering flexibility for students who prefer to learn from home or who live outside the local area. These lessons provide the same high-quality instruction in a convenient and accessible format.
In-person lessons are held at the student’s location, with travel charges applying as per the travel policy. Lessons will begin online, and moving to in-person lessons can be discussed when appropriate, based on the student’s progress and preferences.
LESSON DURATION & RATES
Weekly lessons are offered on a set schedule for the duration of the school term/semester or in 5 or 10-week blocks, with the same lesson time each week. This consistent schedule helps build steady progress. Weekly lessons are priced at $35 for a 30-minute lesson and $70 for a 1-hour lesson.
Casual lessons provide flexibility, allowing students to book lessons without a long-term commitment. These can be scheduled at any time, with options for 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions. Casual lessons are priced at $50 for 30 minutes, $75 for 45 minutes, and $100 for 1 hour.
FIRST LESSON FREE
Your first lesson is free and designed to be an introduction for both of us. We’ll explore your goals and interests, allowing me to tailor lessons to your aspirations while giving you the chance to see if my teaching style feels right.
In this 30 minute session, I’ll guide you through the basics, including an introduction to the keyboard, correct posture, and essential hand and finger techniques.
We’ll also discuss what you’ll need for lessons and decide together how to move forward—whether with casual lessons or a structured plan like a 5- or 10-week block or a school term/semester schedule.
